Great link for Dad's

Today was a good day. Raye and I did well at the casino and had a great dinner at the Wynn with several of our friends. Gold went up again and I still didn't get a sell from my program.

Bought Gold and it goes up!

Well, I bought gold April futures on Tuesday, because I had a buy signal from my program last Thursday. However, I didn't get back from my trip until late Sunday night so I had to wait. Gold has gone up so I am holding it until I get a sell signal from my program. I am now also testing auto trading so that I will be able to place my orders automatically when I am not home. I use a program called Amibroker and Interactive Brokers.

We went to the casino yesterday and lost again, but today we won so everything is going fine. We are trying to finalize the plans for our trip to Europe. We are taking a 17 day tour, but we also want to have a few days before and after the trip so we will be gone for over 3 weeks. The trip is already set, but we have to change the air and get reservations at some hotels for the extra days. We will have a casino pay for it with our comps.

This weekend will be busy. We have some guests coming in from Texas for New Years. We are going to a casino New Years Eve Party and staying at the casino for a few days. We are ready to party!!!

I am back from my cruise trip

Merry Christmas

I am back from my trip. My wife, Raye, my granddaughter, Tiera, and I went to New Orleans for a day, then on an 8 day cruise to Grand Cayman, Costa Maya, and Cozumel. It was great. We met a wonderful couple, Ed and Delphia, who were seated at our table on the cruise. Delphia was charming, beautiful and completely delightful. Ed was interesting, intelligent, and reminded me of my long time friend, Norm. Ed was interesting in gambling so we had an instant connection.

Tiera, really enjoyed herself and met many people her age. We didn’t see her that much because she was so busy with her new friends. She went snorkeling and horseback riding. She loves cruises. I bought my wife an Alexandrite slide with 2 canary diamonds for Christmas. She was thrilled.

While I was gone, gold dropped. I checked my program as soon as I arrived home. I had a buy signal so I will buy some gold futures contracts.

All in all, I had a fantastic 2 weeks.

Found a mistake in my investment program.

My investment formula had a few days that it missed buy and sell signals which were costly. I have been working on it and today with the help of Graham in the Amibroker forum, I found my mistake. My backtest of the new program showed almost a 20% return. However, what really made my day was that my successful trades were almost 10% higher than before which reduced my maximum trade system to less than 15%. I am going to paper trade for awhile, but I cannot wait to actually use the program. I will continue to use the old program now because I know that it works. It just isn't as good as this new program seems to be.

Won a little at the casino today. Spent most of the day getting ready to leave for our trip. We will finish packing tomorrow. We will stay at the Wynn tomorrow night and then leave in the morning. This will be my last post until December 26th.

Great Weekend

Finally won at the casino. My wife, Raye, is in Lake Tahoe. I worked on my stock and futures program. Life is great.

Saturday, I won at the casino and then ate. ULCA won in basketball. I went home to work on my program. I actually improved my results on the backtest. I won't use it yet until I paper trade it for awhile. However, if it shows the same improvement, my results will improve about 5 to 10%.

Sunday, I worked on my program some more to set it up to autotrade it in my paper trading account. Then I went out to eat and picked Raye up at the airport. We went to Primm Valley to collect some money that Raye won in a slot tournament.

We have Monday and Tuesday to get ready for our trip to California, New Orleans, the cruise to Mexico, back to California for Christmas, and then home.

Starting a relaxing weekend

Well the markets are closed for the weekend. Gold dropped today and I am waitng for a buy signal from my program. However, I may not buy because I will be out of town for almost 2 weeks. At least one week, I will not have any internet connection. My wife left for Lake Tahoe today and she will be back Sunday night. Then on Tuesday, we leave for California, New Orleans, and then the Mexican Cruise.

Therefore, I plan to relax this weekend. I lost again today at the casino so I will probably play in the casino a little on Saturday and then just watch the football games on TV on Sunday.

Had another bad day with Sprint. I bought a new cell phone. I asked if it was GPS compatible. The sales girl said it was. I told her to check on it. She checked with someone and told me it was compatible. I asked her to check with their tech. She said that she did. So I bought it. The next day, I call Sprint to sign up for the Telenet service. They signed me up and said that within 24 hours, I would receive a text message telling me how to install it.

Tonight, about 36 hours later, I called to check on it. I was told that they did not have any record of my order for the TeleNav. After about an hour of repeating everything over about 4 times, I finally got to Tech Support. They told me the phone did not support the GPS. I have to buy a different phone. You may not believe it, but my patience is wearing thin.

Oh, well, I have my weekend to relax and enjoy life.

Gold goes up after I sold

I am waitng for a buy order from my program. I know that it isn't perfect, but it is really discouraging to sell and then have gold go up the next day. That is why I am working on autotrading, so I don't have to worry about the decisions. Sometimes, I may not even know for a few days while I am traveling.

I also lost at the casino today. If this keeps up, I will have a losing year gambling. This is my 10th year gambling in Las Vegas and it will be the first losing year for me. At least, this year I won't have to pay any taxes on my winnings, although I would rather pay the taxes. Can't beat the odds all the time.

I will not make any blog entries from December 12 to December 26. I am leaving for California, then to New Orleans, then on a Mexican cruise, then back to California for Christmas. Finally, on December 26th, I will be home again.

Sold my gold futures.

Well, I got a sell signal today, but it was too late. Gold dropped $12.40 today. I sold my futures. Now I will buy gold and silver futures when I get a buy signal. I gave back almost half of my profit on this trade. I hate these big drops in one day.

Also lost at the casino today. The day started with my email not working because all my sites were down. Then gold was dropping. Then I lost at the casino. Lakers played lousy and lost. On the bright side, my sisters went home. Just kidding. I hope they don't read this. I love you Kathy and Marge. I really was just kidding.

Gold dips.

Yesterday, gold dropped. I checked my program and I didn't get a sell signal so I didn't sell. I am thinking that, when I sell my gold, I may buy some silver when I get my next buy signal. I will buy gold and silver. Silver seems be stronger.

This morning both gold and silver are down again. If things do not get better today, I will sell my gold futures. I am sure that my program will have a sell signal.

Didn't play at the casino yesterday. I spent some time working on my autotrading program and making dvd's of some home movie tapes.

I am going to the casino to play and will check on my investments when I get back this afternoon.

My success 101 site

This morning, I worked on the success 101 site. I have completed the graphic changes on the entire free success course and about half of the rest of the site. I still need to make some additions and corrections on the content. However, for now it is fine.

My sisters are staying at the Wynn tonight and we had dinner at the Terrace Pointe Cafe. My sister-in -law, my mother-in-law, my 2 sisters, my sisters best friend, my wife, 2 of our friends, and I all had a great dinner. Since it was all comped by the Wynn, we had all we could eat.

I played at the Wynn and actually had more money when I left then when I entered. gold was up. It was a great day.

I hope that tomorrow I can work on my automated trading. I have it working except that I cannot get it to invest a percentage of my adjusted capital. I can enter a fixed amount and it will buy a percentage of that fixed amount, but when I try to have it a percentage of my remaining capital the next day, I cannot get it to work correctly.

Eventually, I will get it to work for my EOD trading.

Reviewing my investment strategies

Today, after church, I had brunch with my sisters, wife, and sister-in-law. I know it sounds terrible, but it was actually very enjoyable. Then I played at the casino and lost. Went home and examined my investments and my investment strategies.

I have a program that I wrote for going long on stocks, so I evaluated my outlook on the stock market. Due to the large deficit and because I believe that inflation is much higher than the government figures, my estimate is that inflation will get to double digits. The dow will go up as inflation goes up, but then we will have a depression and the market will fall maybe as much as 50%

I also wrote a program for trading futures. Therefore, I also reveiwed gold, silver, and oil. I believe that gold, silver, and oil will shoot up maybe as much as 300%. Therefore, I will go long on stocks. gold, silver, and oil for the short term and then get out of stocks or short them. After I get out of stocks, I will concentrate on gold, silver and oil futures.

Then I worked on setting up an autotrade program. I want to test it so that I do not have to worry when I am traveling. I will be paper trading that until I see how it works.

All in all, I had a very busy day.

Buying casino chips

Today, I checked gold and it was down. Still no buy or sell signals from my program. I will continue to hold the contracts that I already have.

I spent several hours on eBay and bought 9 more casino chips. These chips were for my collection and I will not sell them in my E Thingamajigs online store. I am looking for an elegant album for my chip collection. I have seen several online, but I haven't decided what to buy. An comments or advice would be appreciated.

I lost again at the casino. Therefore, I am down for the month. I also did a little more work on my www. success101.biz site. I have a lot of work to do on that site to get it completed.

Had dinner with my sisters. It was Margaret's birthday today, so we celebrated her birthday. Judy, who is my sisters best friend and just like a sister to all of us, won $1000 in a contest and then won $1000 on video poker. You would think it was her birthday.LOL

Eating with friends and family

Today, I had lunch with my sisters at the Venetian. Then I drove them to the Main Street Casino where they will stay for the next 3 days.

Then I went gambled at the casino and lost. It is a good thing that gold jumped up today. I also worked on my www.success101.biz site. I am changing the appearance. It is still not completed. I collect casino chips so I also bought some chips today. For dinner, I met some friends at the NOVE restaurant at the Palms casino. It is a very nice high class Italian Restuarant. The food was great, but it is pricey. I am so glad that it was comped by the casino.

I am tying to lose weight so this was a bad day for losing weight. I ate too much and probably gained instead of losing. I am trying to lose about 13 lbs. I may have to resort to exercising. Just kidding. I would never resort to exercising. Just kidding again. I exercise, but not as often as I should.

Gold jumps up

I didn't post yesterday so I am posting now first thing this morning. Yesterday gold dropped a few dollars, but today at this time it is up $11.30. I will probably buy a few more contracts now that it is over $640. I will check my program to see if I received a buy signal.

I didn't play at the casino yesterday, but my sisters arrived from Ohio and I picked them up at the airport. They are staying at the Venetian and I visited with the there.

My wife, Raye, met us there. She had spent all day Christmas shipping and doing all the things to get ready for Christmas.

Sprint PCS is driving me crazy.

Today gold was down over $7 when I first checked it at about 8 am. Finished down $2.90. Still no sell signal. As I write this, is it up $1.90 for a drop of $1. Won at the casinos.

Then I decided to upgrade my 3 cellphones to cellphones with bluetooth. I went to a Sprint store. After waiting about 30 minutes, they told me that I couldn't get the $150 rebate. I could only get a $75 rebate. Since I have 3 lines and was going to buy 3 phones, this was $225 difference. So I started driving home and, as I drove, I called Sprint. The representative gave me the $150 rebate by adding a code to my account. She said that I could go to the Sprint store and get the deal on the phones that I wanted. I wanted the Katana by Sanyo. I was going to get 2 of them and one of the Samsun A640.

I went back to the Sprint store. Waited again for about 30 minutes. Finally, a representative called me and I told her what I wanted. She said the I didn't have a $150 rebate only $75. So I called Sprint and, after about 20 minutes on the phone, was told that I now had the $150 rebate. I then ordered the 3 phones.

Sprint had a special where you bought one Katana and you got one free. I was told that I would not get the special because it was only for new customers. I was so exasperated that I decided to just forget it for now. I had wasted all afternoon dealing with Sprint.

However, all in all, it has been another great day in paradise. I won at the casino. Gold is still looking good. The weather is beautiful. I have a great life and good health. What more could anyone want?

My first try at blogging!

This will be a short post. It is my first try at blogging. I like to start interesting projects to see how successful they can be. I have started several businesses and sold them. Then at 55, I retired. Since I retired, I have imported diamonds from India, imported crystal from China, had an Ebay store, invested in stocks and futures daily, and now have 3 web sites not including this blog.
