My 50th High School Reunion

We went to Lake Tahoe and had a great time. The weather was wonderful and the lake was beautiful. In addition, we won a little money. So it was a great trip.

A few days after we returned from Lake Tahoe, we left for Cleveland, Ohio for my 50th high school reunion. We stayed at my sister's house in Seville, Ohio. Seville is known for the Seville giant. Standing seven feet and eleven and a half inches, Captain Bates is a giant who has toured around the world in the circus. In search of a quiet home for himself and his wife, (who is also a giant!) Captain Bates decides to get off the train in Seville, although he fears he will be too big for the little town. But Seville is full of surprises, and the giant is about to learn that the only thing that matters is the size of one's heart.

My reunion started on Friday night with a stag party at St. Ignatius High School. It was a reunion for every 5 years. After 50 years, every class would celebrate their reunion. Of course, the 1957 class was celebrating the 50th class reunion so they had the VIP treatment. I saw about 70 of my old classmates and we spent the night remembering the good times in school.

On Saturday evening, we had a party for everyone including the wifes. It started with a special Mass for the 1957 class. Then we were entertained by the St Ignatius Chorus. It was great. We went on a guided tour of the school. It has really changed. It now has 18 acres of campus. Then we had dinner. Out of 209 in the graduating class, 127 1957 alumni were in attendance. What a wonderful event.

While I was gone, gold went up and I made a nice profit. I still have the contracts and I am waiting for a sell signal from my software program.

We are ahead this month on gambling, but lost this week on gold. I am still trying to automate my trading formula so I can trade without being glued to the computer. It works with a test formula that trades more frequently so I could test it. I am waiting for a trade using my actual formula. I only get about 2 trades a week.

We are leaving for Lake Tahoe a week from Sunday and when we get back we are leaving for Ohio to go to my 50th high school reunion. I hate the hassle of the airports, but I do love to travel.

May has been a bad gambling month so far

We have lost big time this month on our gambling. It is a good thing that gold is making us money. However, Raye hit a royal this morning so we finally had a good day. We are still slightly down on our gambling.

I still haven't done much on forex trading. I am working on trying to automate my futures formula to increase my trading profit. I will then be able to trade longer without having to sit by my computer all the time.

I got out of gold on Friday and I am waiting for another buy signal from my program. I cannot wait until I can set up my autotrading.

Laura is doing great. She is no problem at all except that we did have to adjust our schedule. She will start summer school in June.

My niece, Laura, moves in with us.

I lot have happened since my last post. My niece, Laura, has moved in with us. We have been very busy adjusting to the move. We had to organize the house so she had her own room which meant moving our stuff out of the spare bedroom. I didn't realize how much paperwork had to be completed to get her into school and get her a drivers license. We are still working on things.

Gold took a big drop. I am down on my last buy. However, I didn't sell because I expect it to rebound. It dropped so fast while I was not watching that I just decided to keep my contracts. It has recovered about 50% of the drop.

We also have guests visiting this weekend. We got them rooms at the Suncoast Casino. Our gambling has been up and down like always. We are actually slightly ahead for the month.

I haven't had time to work on Forex. I am working on a new program for day trading that looks very promising. I just am having a problem with getting it to work on a 5 minute chart. I cannot figure out the problem. It works great on other charts.

Well, it is off to church this morning, then to the casino for Brunch and some gambling, then home to see what is happening to gold.

Royals come in bunches

Royals seem to come in bunches. Raye hit a Royal on Thursday and then hit another one today. I bought Gold on Thursday morning and sold it Friday. Made a very nice profit. I am looking for another buy signal.

My son, Jason, and my nephew, Shaun, came to Las Vegas this weekend and we had a nice visit. Had breakfast with them and my sister-in-law, Shirley. Then Shirley took us all to a nice chinese dinner.

I am finally going to start to look at Forex trading. I have been too busy to start on it until now. Since I am not going to be traveling for about 4 weeks, I will have the time.

Easter

We went to California and had a great Easter. We went to church in the morning with my son, Jason, and his wife, Diana. After church, we met my son, Ron, and he treated us to lunch. He was working so we met on his lunch hour. After lunch, we visited our friends, Johanna and Marie. Then it was off to my Jennifer's house for an Easter party. We had a great time. Good food and good company.

This was a good week for my gold investments. I bought in again and still have that buy. I am waiting for a sell signal. My casino gambling was not as good. We are still losing. However, yesterday and today were winning days so things are looking up.

We will be home for about 4 weeks. Of course, Raye probably will think of somewhere to go and visit. She will be going to Tennessee in the middle of May. I will be staying home. Then at the end of May, we will go to Lake Tahoe again. Then on June 1, 2, and 3, we will be in Ohio for my 50th High School Reunion. I am looking forward to that.

Gold is up, Gambling is down

Well, I recovered my losses on the last Gold drop and even made a slight profit. I have sold and am waiting for another buy signal from my program. However, after a winning March, we have been losing in the casinos in April.

We had a great time in Lake Tahoe and made some money gambling. This weekend, we are going to California to celebrate Easter with the family. We also bought another car. It is a 2001 Lincoln Towncar with 47000 miles on it. It is like new. Raye loves Towncars and this is her third one in the last 13 years.

My next door neighbor hurt his shoulder and had to have an operation. He cuts my lawn for me for FREE. I had to mow it for the last 2 weeks. I didn't realize how out of shape I am. I was exhausted.

10 days since last post

I bought a new computer and I have had it for about a week. It is still in the box. I have not had any spare time to set it up, so that is also why I haven't been posting to this blog.

We have been very lucky this month at the casinos and are ahead big time. Gold has also been going up and we have recovered our losses on the last trade when Gold plummeted. Things are going very good for us.

We are leaving for Lake Tahoe on Friday and will spend a few days relaxing. It will be nice to see all our friends in Reno and Lake Tahoe.

My sister will be visiting for a week starting next Tuesday. They will stay at the Red Rock, Main Street, and Sams Town. I am looking forward to seeing them again.

I have a lot of items to add to the E Thingamajigs store. Most of them are the 99 cents specials and are very good deals. I sold a diamond ring on Ebay at auction and will be putting another one on auction today or tomorrow. I will put the item number in my next blog entry.

The last week and a half

Since my last post, Gold has gone up and I have recouped most of my losses on my last trade. I am experimenting with day trading. I think that I can be more profitable, but it will require more time. We have been lossing big at the casinos. However, we are still ahead for this month. Thanks to the Royals that Raye hit early in the month.

I have been working in my yard. I have to fix a leak in my waterfall and one set of my Malibu lights is out. I fixed the leak in the waterfall and the Malibu lights, but then when I put the waterfall back together, it leaked again. The lights were fixed and when I went to bury the cable, they went out. As you probably guessed, I am not very handy at repairs.

We went to a few shows and they were good. We are preparing to go to Lake Tahoe again at the end of the month. Then, no more travel until May.

Raye's Birthday

Wow! We have been busy. March 4th was Raye's Birthday and we went to California. We had a great time. Visited with my son, Jason, and his family, his wife, Diana, his son, Blake, and his daughter, Haley. We also went to my granddaughter's play. Her name is Ellie and she was in the play Oklahoma. She played Ado Annie. She was fantastic. I was amazed at her talent. This was a play performed by children from about 10 to 15 years old. My granddaughter is 11 years old. She sang a solo and a duet. Her mother, Carla, her brother, Trevor, her step dad, Trip, her dad, Tony, her other grandparents, and several friends were there.

Gold has dropped like a rock. I bought in again, but it dropped some more, but it is now going up. I think that I will get back my losses and even make a profit. I am testing my program on intraday trading. The End of Day trading is too risky with gold because of the severe fluctuations. I think that my program will be even more profitable with intraday trading.

I hit a Royal today so we are ahead for the month with our gambling. So far it has been a very good year gambling. This is the 11th year that we have been gambling in Las Vegas almost daily.
We love it.

I have had some interest in the song, "Mom, this song's for you". I sold a few copies and had one school teacher who wanted to teach it to her class to sing on Mother's Day. I am trying to find a way to have sheet music written for it.

Raye returns from Texas

Raye returned from Texas on Saturday night. We went to church and then went to the Wynn for Lunch. Gambled a little and lost, but had a nice day. On Monday, we gambled and we both won a little.

Today, Gold dropped $22 after the New York market closed. I was down big time. I bought some more when it was down $21 and I have now recovered about 70% of my loss. However, I am still way ahead for the year and I expect gold to recover some more before morning. I have 2 sells orders in place for this evening.

My friend, Willie, is visiting me from up north. He will be here until Thursday. Raye and I leave for California on Friday to see my granddaughter, Ellie, perform in a play on Sunday. We also will see 4 more of our grandchildren. It should be a great trip.

Our 34th Wedding Aniversary

Today is our 34th Wedding Aniversary. Raye is in Texas and I am at home. What a great way to celebrate! LOL We will celebrate on Sunday after she gets hom.

Gold jumped up over $22 today. So we are up over $1000 per contract even after the big drop the day before. I also won at the casinos the last 2 days so life is good. I expect to get a sell from my program on the next drop. Gold is down tonight so I may sell it tommorrow.

I also played some poker on line today and won. I think that I will enter an online poker tournament tomorrow if I remember. I also want to play at the Wynn so I don't know if I will make it back home in time to play poker online.

Busy weekend

My son, Ron, arrived on Friday and left today. My sister-in-law, Nancy, had a brain hemorrhage and was flown to Las Vegas for treatment. She is stable today and will start therapy tommorrow. My daughter, Carla, and her family and friends arrived today for breakfast and then left to go to Utah. My mother-in-law, Virginia, stayed with us yesterday and today. Raye and Virginia will leave tommorrow morning for Texas. I have to take them to the airport at 6am. We have been very very busy.

We also gambled this weekend and won big. I am watching gold to rebuy. I hope to buy tommorrow. My program never gave me a sell and I lost money because I sold early. I just have to learn to follow my program.

Had a wonderful Valentine's Day

Raye and I spent the day together. We went shopping. I almost enjoyed it. Then we went to dinner at the Suncoast. It was a nice dinner and we had a great time. After dinner, we just went home. We didn't even gamble.

Gold went up the day before and in the evening, when it went up again, I sold all my contracts. My program didn't signal a sell but I wanted to buy June contracts so I sold what I had. I plan to buy again on the next drop in price.

I won a little at the casino today and Raye spent all day trying to buy tickets to fly to Texas tommorrow. I will be a bachelor again for several days.

Gold is doing well.

I have done well with gold since my last post. I sold half my holdings today. I didn't get a sell signal from my program, but I just expect gold to consolitate before it moves up toward $700.

We have been losing at the casinos the last few days, but are still ahead for the month. However, after today, we are just barely ahead.

I have been researching the song publishing business because I have my Mom's song and an album that I want to get recorded. I also met a lady songwriter whose songs I may also promote.

I sold my autographed Marvin Harrison helmet on Ebay and I have to mail it tomorrow. I forgot to do it today. I need to get busy with listing item for sale in my store at http://www.ethingamajigs.com. I have so many things to sell.

I plan to get organized one of these days. I have started too many projects.

A Tribute to Mom

Raye and I went to dinner with friends at the NOVE restaurant at the Palms casino. We had a great time. The food was excellent and the company was even better.

Gold dropped a little today, but I didn't get a sell from my program.

My birthday was today. What a wonderful day!

First, on Sunday, I went to the Super Bowl Party at the 4 Queens. I had a great time. I won both my bets-one on Indy and one on the unders. I also won a drawing for an autographed Marvin Harrison mini helmet in a case. However, I did lose a little playing in the casino.

Then, on Monday, both Raye and I lost in the casino's. I had trouble with my Ethingamajigs store site and my hearing aid broke.

Finally, today is my birthday. What a wonderful day. All my friends, children, and grandchildren called and wished me a happy birthday. Tiera, my 16 year old granddaughter called from school and had all her friends in her choir class sing happy birthday to me. What a kick.

I went to get my hearing aid fixing and had a very interesting talk with the specialist while he was fixing my hearing aid. He had an unusual type of cancer in the mouth. They wanted to remove his teeth and cut his gums and cheek. He refused and found a treatment that cured his cancer. I told him about my colon cancer and how the doctors were amazed that it didn't spread inside my body and how I didn't need any chemo or radiation. I told him I took Dr. Rath vitamins and he told me that he also took them to fight his cancer.

Then my sister-in-law, Shirley, met Raye and I for dinner at the Wynn. We had a great time. After dinner, we went to a drawing at the Wynn for a Ferrari. I didn't win, but both Shirley and I won $1000, so it was ok. We also won gambling at the casino to put the end to a great day.

My Mom passed away.

On Sunday, January 28, 2007, my mother, Margaret Ann Jones, passed away. I flew to Ohio on Sunday. My mom was 94 years old and was a wonderful lady. She had been in pain for many years and didn't have any memory left. It was the best thing for her, but it was very hard on the family. All my relatives were there for the funeral. After we arrived home, Raye and I started winning at the casinos and are up several thousand dollars this month. Raye left for a retreat and will be back on Monday. I am going to the Super Bowl Party at the 4 Queens today.

I also bought more gold on Thursday and it went down drastically on Friday. I then received a sell signal on Friday from my program. I don't want to sell so I will wait until later today to see what is happening to gold prices.

It couldn't last for ever.

Raye hit another Royal on Tuesday and we are thousands ahead for the month. However, the next 2 days, we lost big. However, we are still ahead for the month.

Gold is up again, but it is down tonight. I still do not have any buy or sell signals with my program. If gold takes a jump in price tommorrow, I will probably get a buy signal.

Tomorrow, the gardener is going to work on my yard. He will prune my fruit trees and my plants. I also plan to work on my waterfall. It has a leak and I have to fix it. The weather is beautiful and I want to have my yard fixed up so it will be ready for us to enjoy this spring.

Raye spends the weekend in Arizona

Raye played in a slot tournament Saturday and then left for Arizona. I had to play in the tournament on Sunday. I did very well so we ended up 8th and won $500. If Raye had just done a little better, we may have won $20000. However, she hit another royal today and I won every day this weekend, so we are way ahead. In fact, we are way ahead for the month.

Gold dropped today and I didn't get any signals from my program, so I am just waiting for a signal to buy. I am still working on setting up my program for auto trading, but I am having a problem with the code. I am not a programmer, so I just learn from my mistakes as I go.

I am going with Raye to Lake Tahoe at the end of the month. I hadn't planned on going, but I have to go to for business reasons. Although I am retired, I still keep busy with a few business activities.

Le Reve at the Wynn is fantastic!!

Spent 2 days at the Wynn Casino. Raye, Virginia (Raye's Mom), and I had a great time at the Wynn. We went to the Chinese Restaurant (I think it is the Wing Lei) to eat. Shirley, Raye's Sister, went with us. I thought that the Lemon Chicken was just average, but the rest of the food was great.

Then, we went to the Le Reve show. Everyone thought that it was fantastic. It was exciting and beautiful. One of the best shows that we have seen in Las Vegas. I think that A New Day is the best, but this is a close second.

Gold went up then down then up. My program gave me a sell signal on Thursday so I sold it today. I made a slight profit. I should have held on because it jumped up today. I would have doubled my profit.

We lost a little at the casinos yesterday, but won big today. Raye is hitting royals so we are really doing well.

It finally warmed up a little today. My pond didn't freeze last night and it was in the mid fifties today. I hope that it stays above freezing so I can prune the plants and trees in my yard.

Bought Gold and it goes down!

Well, I bought gold this morning at open and it went down. It is still going down tonight. However, I didn't get a sell signal so I will keep it at least until Thursday.

Played at the casino again today. We lost a little. Had a good time at dinner at the buffet at Boulder Station with my friend Norm. I didn't workout today so it is the first day since the first of the year that I missed. I will workout tommorrow because, if I don't, I know that I will get lazy again and not exercise.

One of my main sprinkler valves broke due to the freezing weather we are having. It is just a little drip of a leak so I will wait until I fix it. The plumbers are all very busy and they are just responding to the big leaks and problems.

Time to buy Gold

I have placed my order to buy gold at the open tomorrow. This will be the first time that I try to use my auto trading to place a market order at 30 seconds before open. I am really interested to see how it works. Hopefully, I will buy exactly at the open price.

Today was another good day at the casino. I won big, but Raye lost 3/4 of it back later in the day. We are thinking of going on a cruise to Hawaii instead of the Europe trip. We have to cancel the Europe trip for several reasons. My mom has been given 1 to 3 months to live and I want to go to my 50th class reunion. We are also thinking of taking a 5 day cruise to Mexico with 5 of our grandkids. We didn't think we could go because the cruise lasted until Dec. 26th. This cruise will end on Dec 23rd. Nothing is decided yet. We have to do more reasearch.

Lunch with Andy and Jody

My nephew, Andy, and his wife, Jody, finally arrived today after being stranded in Texas yesterday. They checked into the Wynn and we had a nice lunch. I hope to see them again tomorrow before they leave. They are going to see the show "O" tonight.

Raye and I had another great day gambling. We both win big. She was at Sam's Town and I was at the Red Rock. We didn't see each other today. What a great day! Just kidding. I missed her.

I plan to check out gold tommorrow and then buy it at open on Monday. I don't like to buy after a big jump in price, but I did get a buy signal from my program so I will buy it.

Exercising and losing weight

I am still exercising and losing weight. I have not missed one day of exercising. I work out on my total gym every 3 days using the "Power of 10" exercise theory and on the off days use my trendmill. I have now lost 7 lbs since January 1, 2007.

Raye and I played at the casino again today. We broke even. Then we had dinner at the Wynn again. We have a room for next Wednesday and Thursday. On Thursday, we plan to go to dinner for Chinese and then to the Le Reve show. We have to do something with our comps.

Gold jumped up today and I have a buy signal. I will check out what it does on Sunday and then buy at open on Monday. My testing of my program used the open on the next day for the buy price so I will continue to buy at open the next day.

My nephew was supposed to fly in today and we have rooms at the Wynn for him, his wife, and his friends. However, they are stranded in Texas and may not even get a flight tommorrow. I was looking forward to seeing him and his wife. I hope that they make it.

Great day gambling.

Today was a great day. We won big time today. Had dinner at the Wynn with Raye and a friend. The weather is beautiful. Spent time in the yard. Just a great day!

Gold dropped today so, naturally, I didn't get a buy signal from my program. I think that it will have to go up to about $615 before I get a buy signal. I will just wait and see.

Starting my excercise program

I have decided to lose weight and get into shape. I need to lose about 21 more lbs. Therefore, I started to watch my diet again and to exercise. I have already lost 4.5 lbs since New Years, but now I am also exercising again. I hope to lose at least 10 lbs. this month. I hope to weight about 170, but, if I bulk up, I think 175 will be ok.

Gold is up today, but I did not get a buy signal so I will have to see what happens tomorrow. I really want to buy because I think that it will be going up again this week, but I am just going to stick to my program. It is just that I may give up some profit by waiting, but better safe than sorry.

Raye and I have been talking about our 2007 goals. We always make goals every year by the first of the year. We have decided that we may not want to take our 3 week European trip this year. We may want to wait until next year. We want to take our grandkids on a course this year and it may just be too much. We have not decided yet.

Great Weekend and Gold is moving up

Raye came home Saturday. She had a great time in California at the Morris Cerrullo 36th Annual World Conference at Anaheim Stadium. On Sunday, we went to church, went to lunch at the Red Rock Casino, gambled awhile (we lost), and then went home and exercised. Raye did some wash and cleaning while I posted this post.

I checked gold prices today and gold is moving up again. It is up over $3 dollars now. I will probably buy on Tuesday. I will have to check my program on Monday. Since I do expect gold to hit at least $700 this year, I will buy April contracts. With my software program, I miss some of the move, but I am somewhat conservative.

I am now working on a forex program. It will take me a long time because I am not a programer and I have to learn as I go. Even with my program that I use for futures, I know that I have to double check my signals because they are not 100% accurate. I am still trying to find the problem. However, it is close enough for now.

Gold crashes, but I renew an old friendship

Today, Gold dropped drastically. Most of my gain was wiped out. I also had 2 losing days at the casino. My software program did not show a sell, so I will have to wait until tomorrow. I am also trying to write a program for trading forex. I need to spend more time on my trading. I have spent too much time traveling and celebrating during the holidays.

I had lunch and spent most of the day with an old friend, Norm, whom I haven't seen in about 8 or 9 years. It was great. I had a wonderful day despite the financial setbacks.

I also plan to start my exercise program tomorrow. My friend Norm has been exercising and he is in wonderful shape. I was going to wait until my wife returned home from California, but I have been delaying this for too long.

Happy New Year

We had a great New Year's Eve. Our friends Sandra and Al went with us to dinner and a party. We visited the Fremont Street Experience and watched the fireworks.

When I arrived at home this evening, I checked on Gold. It is up slightly. Since I use EOD statistics from the New York market, I can not use my program until Wednesday night. I almost have my autotrading program ready to go. I will test it next week in my paper trading account.

Lost a little at the casino this weekend, but we had a great time.
